The next Texas Governor’s election cannot come soon enough. Rick Perry has climbed to the top of most corrupt Texas Political Wheeler Dealers, and that is a big list of Texas nutjob governors, like Ma and Pa Ferguson, Beaufort Jester, Allen Shivers, Price Daniels, John Connoly (Lyndon’s presidential campaign manager), all Democrats; or the advent of the Republican governors, beginning with the first-ever, Bill Clements, and after two moderate Democrats, Mark White and Ann Richards, the worst of the worst, G.W. “Baby Bush” Bush and his successor, the true nutjob of all nutjob Texas governors, Rick “Born Again” Perry.
The full extent of the damage Perry has done to Texas credibility will be revealed, bit by bit, for decades to come. We have to rid Texas of this leech before there is nothing left to be proud of. Unfortunately, Wheeler Dealer politicians and their rich, special interest buddies are a way of life for Texas. If you put a hat and boots on a pig, it can be a Texan, too. For eleven-and-one-half years Rick Perry has been the Governor of Texas. As the Lt. Governor under George Bush, he took over as Governor when Bush was elected President. Thus when he ran for Governor in 2002, and 2010 he was the incumbent Republican. Texas is one of the “most Republican states in the United States,” with Republicans controlling all statewide offices, both houses of the state legislature, and Republicans have a majority in the Texas congressional delegation.

To quote Rick Perry’s 2010 book, Fed Up!: Our Fight to Save America From Washington, when asked whether his misgivings about climate science fueled distrust of federal research in general.
“I do believe that the issue of global warming has been politicized,” Perry answered. “I think there are a substantial number of scientists who have manipulated data so that they will have dollars rolling into their projects. I think we’re seeing it almost weekly or even daily, scientists who are coming forward and questioning the original idea that man-made global warming is what is causing the climate to change. Yes, our climates change. They’ve been changing ever since the earth was formed.”
Perry has received a total of $37 million over the last decade from just 150 individuals and couples, who are likely to form the backbone of his new effort to win the Republican presidential nomination. The tally represented more than a third of the $102 million he had raised as governor through December, according to data compiled by the watchdog group Texans for Public Justice. Nearly half of those mega-donors received hefty business contracts, tax breaks or appointments under Perry, according to a Los Angeles Times analysis.
My hope is that any influence Rick Perry, and his gang, have on the Republican Party will have been a bad dream by the time the real campaign begins. Quote Rick, “Every barrel of oil that comes out of those sands in Canada is a barrel of oil that we don’t have to buy from a foreign source,” Perry said, adding that buying so much energy from foreign countries is “not good policy, it’s not good politics and frankly it‘s un-American.” Therefore, Canada is just the northern most state in America. Perry called his supporters patriots. Later, answering news reporters’ questions, Perry suggested Texans might at some point get so fed up they would want to secede from the union, though he said he sees no reason why Texas should do that. Perry repeatedly and proudly called Social Security and Medicare unconstitutional — even doing so on video at least once. But when Perry wants to be president, however, he has unleashed a blizzard of falsehoods, claiming untruthfully that he never said Social Security and Medicare are unconstitutional…

Ice age data bolsters greenhouse gas, warming link
WASHINGTON (AP) — The dramatic temperature increases that thawed the last ice age followed spikes in carbon dioxide levels in the air, a new study finds. Researchers say that further strengthens the scientific case explaining current man-made global warming.
In the new study, scientists show the atmospheric concentration of that heat-trapping greenhouse gas jumped more than 40 percent. Then global temperatures went up about 6 degrees Fahrenheit (3.5 degrees Celsius).

Ice shelf in Antarctica has shrunk by 85% A vast ice shelf in the Antarctic peninsula, a hotspot for global warming, has shrunk by 85 percent in 17 years, the European Space Agency (ESA) said on Thursday.
Images taken by its Envisat satellite show that the so-called Larsen B ice shelf decreased from 11,512 square kilometres (4,373 square miles) in 1995, an area about the size of the Gulf state of Qatar, to only 1,670 sq km (634 miles) today.
Larsen B is one of three ice shelves that run from north to south along the eastern side of the peninsula, the tongue of land that projects towards South America.

This State of the Climate is the second paper produced by CSIRO and the Australian Bureau of Meteorology. It provides a summary of observations of Australia’s climate and analysis of the factors that influence it.
Global greenhouse gases have risen to their highest level in human history, according to a major report released today.
The previous State of the Climate, released in March 2010 highlighted a multi-decadal warming trend over Australia’s land and oceans, an increase in record hot days and decrease in record cold days across the country, a decrease in rainfall in southwest and southeast Australia, an increase in global sea level, and increases in global greenhouse gas concentrations.

Another Granite State reporter listening to Perry, this one from New Hampshire Public Radio, tweeted that Perry said “Scientists are ‘coming forward daily’ to disavow a ‘theory that remains unproven.’”
Climate skeptics love Perry, and this kind of rhetoric is why. While Mitt Romney is out and about on the campaign trail agreeing with the overwhelming scientific status quo on the topic, Perry appears poised to take up a view of climate change on the presidential campaign trail that would be right at home in a Sen. James Inhofe (R-OK) floor speech.

So, what I figured out is that if we raise enough money to buy back Rick Perry’s brain from the polluters and corporate religion manglers, would it be worth the investment? Somehow, I doubt it would be a wise investment. I 
see dollar signs jumping off Perry like fleas off roadkill. I was taught by Kenny Rogers song, “Know When To Fold ‘Em”. My hope for Texas is a fresh deck that has not been marked by all the card sharks in the state.
Rick Perry is not only in denial about his own personal reality, his deluded vision of the world he shares with the rest of us, cannot imagine man-made accidents that hurt whole populations, like the Earthquake, Tsunami, Fukashima debacle. The ONE thing that Rick Perry was reasonably successful at was how Texas handled Hurricane Katrina, even though many thousands of Houstonians ended up trapped on state highways for hours during their evacuation attempt. The disaster that Rick Perry flunked was the Texas Wildfire debacle, which intruded on his megalomaniacal bid for the White House. Those wildfires exposed the consequences of Perry’s de-funding of Texas services such as fire departments and emergency services.

On March 11, 2011, Japan suffered a that destroyed roads, bridges, and buildings; killed nearly 16,000 people; and critically disabled three reactors at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. By March 12, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) was already considering urging Americans within 50 miles of the stricken nuclear reactors to evacuate, given an explosion in Unit 1 that destroyed the reactor building and exposed spent nuclear fuel and other radioactive materials to the air.
“If this happened in the U.S., we would go out to 50 miles,” said Bill Borchardt, NRC executive director for operations on March 17, according to . “That would be our evacuation recommendation.”
Rick Perry sprouted from the humble roots of poor rural Texas. Managed to get into Texas A & M and form plans to improve his lot in life. This is the Classic American Dream. However, Rick Perry took his dream into public service and succumbed to the dark side. Perry was courted by big money to grant political favors in exchange for “donations”. Perry endorsed anything he was asked, even if it hurt people, and since much of the old Texas money was very racist, that was OK with Perry. If there was money behind a request, Perry would defend it as righteous and ignore evidence of pollution, human rights violation, toxic contamination or personal intrusion. Perry has elevated himself to the level of megalomaniac by even courting a radical secessionist group who wants to resurrect The Republic of Texas and leave the federal government of the United States. Perry panders to anything that smells of money.
