Israel in ‘all-out war’ with Hamas
Israel has struck more than 300 Hamas targets since Saturday, its military said. 
The raids have fueled demonstrations around the Middle East and Europe, and the U.N. Security Council has called for both sides to immediately end the violence. However, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Sunday that the campaign could last “for some time,” and his Cabinet voted to call up 7,000 reservists.
“We have stretched our hand in peace many times to the Palestinian people. We have nothing against the people of Gaza,” Defense Minister Ehud Barak said. “But this is an all-out war against Hamas and its branches.”
However, words aside, Barak appears to have no problem with collateral damage. The same people Israel has “nothing against” are being slaughtered with every air strike. Israel, like the coalition forces in Iraq and Afghanistan, makes no distinction between insurgents and innocents.
Iran hardliners register volunteers to fight Israel
TEHRAN (Reuters) – A group of Iranian hard-line clerics is signing up volunteers to fight in the Gaza Strip in response to Israel’s air strikes that have killed at least 300 Palestinians, a news agency reported on Monday.
Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei issued a religious decree to Muslims around the world on Sunday, ordering them to defend Palestinians in Gaza against Israeli attacks “in any way possible.”

Secretly, Bush has supported and forgiven human rights intrusions by Israel. Publicly, Bush has condemned Israeli actions. The two sides of Bush’s mouth demonstrate the Double Speak (incorrectly attributed to George Orwell), but Orwell did coin newspeak, oldspeak, and doublethink. How many Bush Administration consequences can the world survive … after all, Bush has a couple of weeks left to finish off his “crusader mandate” as preached by Darth Cheney.

Hanna, If the United Nations and European Union, together, confront Israel, they may stop shooting and bombing long enough to allow our transition government to get a diplomatic foothold. Right now, Israel is taking advantage of governments in transition. They have their own election approaching and this is their last chance to devastate Hamas.
Their method of dealing with Hamas is ruthless. They have no intention to enter dialog with Hamas. It will take major intervention to stop Hamas and Israel from attacking each other. Hamas knows it is not equipped to address Israel’s warfare technology, it only wants to rile up the Arab world to join the conflict. Israel must know this. Their motive must be to escalate the fight into a nuclear response on Iran.
The United States calls for democracy, and they let the Palestinian people elect their government and the people elected Hamas. That’s what the people wants, but of course that doesn’t work for the United States and Isreal, so they come up with all sort of games to remove them, the same way they accused Sadam of having weapons off mass destruction and invaded his country.
They all hide behind their religions, and use it as an excuse, truth is, it’s all common interests for these large countries and the poor people pay the consequences.

It does appear that way, but I disagree. Again, the face Americans remember and relate to is the angry side of Islam. The face Muslims see and relate to is the angry and exploitation side of Christianity. Neither side should be categorized by their worst face, the barbaric face. That is too simplistic, but very easy to sell to the masses. Americans have been sold a bill of rotten goods. What is happening today is the result of an economic and political undercurrent that is not revealed to voters until the manipulation fails. Even then, switching the blame for failures is what Americans are expected to accept. Myopia plus denial destroys nations.
oneStarman, Unfortunately it does appear that Muslims hate everyone … of course that is also true of many ultra conservative Christians. It all boils down to the fact that these great religions have been hi-jacked by charismatic leaders with a political agenda. Megalomania is running rampant within religions today. Muslims have a leg up because many of their more extreme followers come from isolated areas and are not exposed to today’s mainstream civilization. America’s conservative Christians don’t have that excuse.

You nailed it Jeff. Hamas, as well as other “insurgents” can count on SLOPPY retaliation, they can self-perpetuate the trauma and anger. It is hard to reason with someone who has lost their family members. They are in shock and will join the same insurgents that actually caused their grief.
Of course this is going to engulf the world. What Liberals fail to understand is that WW III started on September 11, 2001, and it won’t end until either Islam is destroyed completely, or Israel and the U.S. are destroyed. Sorry people, those are the only two options in this fight and anyone who thinks that a peaceful solution can be reached with these barbaric Muslims is really naïve.
WHY DO MUSLIMS HATE EVERYONE? – Muslims in India hate Hindus-they had to move to Pakistan to keep from killing everyone in sight, Arab Muslims hate Jews, Palestinian Fatah hates Palestinian Hamas, Shia hate Sunni everybody hates America and the West – Muslims blow up Buddhas and kill Bahais – Isn’t there ANYONE that muslims can tolerate?
While never being the blind supporter of Israel, this is just ridiculous and the Palestinian people are paying the price with their lives. Hamas fires missiles into Israel from populated areas and expect Israel to just ignore the aggression and not retaliate? Of course not, it is EXACTLY what Hamas wanted to happen. No sane person with an IQ above 5 could expect anything different.
The larger question is just how long will it take the common Palestinian to finally wake up and say no to the war mongers and throw them out? My belief is many Palestinians already feel this way and are quite sick and tired of being the pawns of Hamas and paying with their loved ones lives.
Again, I am no big Israeli supporter nor do I believe everything they say, but in the vast majority of these conflicts, when one looks at the reported facts and use a little logic, what is happening here comes up again and again. The Palestinian people need to realize that Israel is there, they are not leaving and having Hamas in power, and allowing attacks to orginate from the middle of populated areas will only bring death and destruction to themselves.
