another excellent post about a serious un mentioned problem – the MSM regularly side steps this issue, much like they swept homelessness under the rug. In our family , a member looking for full time work has run into another factor that I personally think is an exascerbating factor to hopelessness and that is that the HUMAN TOUCH is taken out of the job application process. Everything is on a kiosk – and these Kioks mal function, and the managers take no responsibility , just lie and say come back treating a job applicant worse then a dog…all these computers..never indicate for example the latest excuse we got out of the blue, another lie upon another lie was that the appplication was incomplete so therefore dispite INSIDE org. references..the app never came up …what is one to do ? There are just stock answers and get the “problem person off the phone mode” of heartless managers who willingly hold themselves captive to the BORG and blame all on the computers and cheerfully say – well come back and fill out another one…yeah right with gas close to 3 dollars a gallon , we’ll get on that right away..BASTARDS

I really did a lot of research on the recent increase in ‘murder-suicide’ rates since the economy entered ICU. Yes, there have been predictable trends for ordinary suicides, (I use ordinary only as it relates to familiar individual social depression). The suicides I am targeting have become systemic to failure to cope with ‘sudden financial death’. Realizing that the system, of financial security, you’ve relied upon, is only as good as the truth its built on, is a crushing blow. Trust and Truth are casualties of the way things are done by politicians and preachers. If transparency and honesty are the only things Obama is successful with, he will have changed the world. Caring about it all and acting on it is everyone’s responsibility.
Historically, suicide is total loss of hope and caring when one is blinded to any options at all. Lost on the suicidal is the selfish nature of the act. Soldiers become victims of contradiction and fall into a hopeless frame of mind. Either they act out on others or themselves,

I was thinking of the suicide rate among Japanese students as a simple indicator of social stressors as a large component in causality. The reign of the NeoCons’ dysfunctional government resonates through society in many ways – this being a precursor of upcoming losses related to failures of societal services/infrastructure. The behaviour of the DVA mocks ‘Support the Troops’. I recall one YouTube clip on conditions at a US barracks where returned troops were quartered : a slumlord would not have been allowed such ‘maintenance’.

Thanks Wil. You inspired me to bring more information into this observation. The government has even dedicated a website to addressing personal stress related to financial problems. I’m still looking for a current official study regarding related factors to suicide spikes. I found some, but I’m still digging. I found it interesting that one study complains about the ‘under reporting’ of suicides and related factors (this hinders research). At least on TV they conduct a psychological autopsy. I can’t believe any agency would put that much effort into caring that much, unless of course it was a high profile suicide … there’s money to be made from that. Most studies point to the high rate of suicide for college age students and seasonal trends. I can’t locate a detailed epidemiology study, but, I will.
